The size and composition of the QR Board is determined by the Governor in Council. All of the Directors of QR are non-executive Directors. There are nine directors on the QR Board, including the Chair.
Several Directors are members of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). All QR Directors participate in industry, governance and government forums and attend seminars hosted by the AICD, Chartered Secretaries Australia and other peak professional bodies. Upon appointment, Directors complete a formal induction program and receive a comprehensive Director handbook. A Whole-of-Board evaluation is undertaken each year, in addition to individual evaluation sessions between the Chairman and each Director. Self evaluation questionnaires assist in this process.
