QR has introduced a new code of conduct which sets the standard of behaviour to be observed in the workplace, when dealing with our customers, contractors, suppliers and with the communities in which we work. In particular, QR and its employees must continually strive to impress our customers, leading them to choose QR as their first transport option.
The new code applies to all employees including the CEO and senior executive, managers and supervisors, and members of the QR Board, as well as consultants and contractors providing a service to QR.
The following outlines the requirements that all QR employees must follow:
- Be responsible for safety, security & the environment
- Be fit for work
- Provide customer service excellence
- Value equity & diversity
- Make decisions objectively
- Avoid any conflict of interest
- Use QR resources, information and systems appropriately
- Maintain privacy of personal information
- Seek advice before making public comment
- Behave appropriately as a QR employee
- Be sensitive to cultural issues when working overseas
- Disclose gifts and benefits offered
- Ensure dress and appearance are appropriate
- Maintain confidentiality on leaving QR
- Use intellectual property appropriately
- Report official misconduct
- Making public interest disclosures
