QR provides opportunities for Queensland Australia high school students to obtain work experience through dedicated placement on an agreed time frame. Work experience students do not receive remuneration from QR and are not guaranteed a permanent position within the organisation should they apply for a vacancy in the future. QR has a strong focus on Safety with particular emphasis on it's ZERO Harm objectives. 

To maintain high standards of safety for work experience students each application is reviewed to ensure any placement that is offered is compliant with all relevant State Government legislation and QR's Safety Policies and Procedures. Placements will not be offered if the requested work experience does not comply with these mandatory requirements.
