As a civil engineer in QR you will have the opportunity to use your professional skills in urban or regional areas, and in a variety of fields of operation including earthworks, bridge construction and laying rail track.

Mechanical Engineering

Be a part of a design team who are responsible for the design, modification and maintenance of our Rollingstock fleet and specialist plant equipment.

Electrical Engineering

In the fields of Telecommunications, Signalling and Operational Systems. You could find yourself designing, manufacturing or maintaining major operational plant, signalling systems or large scale infrastructure systems.

Degree Requirements

All applicants for our engineering roles must be studying a four-year accredited Bachelor of Engineering degree with a major in one of the required engineering fields.

Business and Commerce

In QR you will work in a company that has $10 billion in assets. Our graduate accountants and business analysts manage income and expenditure and other operational accounting functions and are involved in the long term analysis and financial planning of a large corporate entity. You could also support tax and other business systems compliance activities.

As a finance-oriented person in QR you will be known for your ability to work within complex business systems. You will have the ability to create solutions that drive efficiency and possess the skills to ensure governance and risk are well managed. You will be known for your high class business analytical skills and possess strong business acumen.

QR supports the two major professional accounting associations in Australia – CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).

As a HR professional with QR, you will be work with line managers to develop programs to help build the capability of tomorrow’s leaders, create new governance management frameworks, assist managers with succession planning or run communication programs to help QR’s people understand how they can make a difference to the organisation’s future. A Bachelor degree with a major in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Industrial Relations or similar is preferred.

Information Technology

Working in QR’s IT team provides you with an opportunity to put your professional skills into practice to create leading edge technology solutions.

You could find yourself managing customer support requests, assisting in the resolution or redirection of IT related issues, or even analysing complete desktop lifecycles.

Further into your career, you could be responsible for IT planning and governance, the operation of QR’s computer hardware or operating systems, or the integration of QR’s software solutions.

We look for students who will graduate with a Bachelor degree in Information Technology or Business with a major in Information Systems.
