Servicing & repairs

QR operates a Repair Authorisation Centre for all servicing and repairs to QR motor vehicles. In general, manufacturer’s agents are the preferred option to undertake the servicing and repair of QR motor vehicles. Where no manufacturer’s agents are available, or, where specialist services are required, QR will appoint alternative service providers.

Motor vehicle service providers wishing to be considered as a preferred QR motor vehicle repairer should contact the QR Repair Authorisation Centre on 1800 011 100 or e-mail at rac@qr.com.au.

The criteria QR will use to assess a supplier’s suitability will include, but not be limited to:

  • The supplier is a manufacturer’s agent for motor vehicles operated by QR.
  • There is no manufacturer’s agent for a particular vehicle in that location.
  • The supplier must have public liability and professional indemnity cover.
  • The supplier is licensed for the type of work undertaken.
  • The supplier has qualified, trained and experienced staff.
  • Repair and service charges are in accordance with the manufacturer’s and, or, MTA guidelines.
  • The labour rate charged is reasonable and acceptable to QR.
  • Suitable premises and equipment.
  • Provides acceptable warranty terms.
  • Provision of value added services, (eg loan vehicles, pick-up and delivery)
  • Provides specialist knowledge and expertise.
  • Agrees to QR’s administration guidelines and terms for payment.

Repair authorisation instructions

QR operates a motor vehicle Repair Authorisation Centre (RAC). All servicing and repairs must be authorised by the RAC before commencement of the work. In conjunction with the RAC, QR uses the BP Plus Card (Extended Merchant function) as its primary means of paying for such services. This is QR’s preferred method of paying for motor vehicle related services.

The link below provides a summary of the process to follow for service providers who are BP extended merchants undertaking work on QR motor vehicles. Following this process will ensure prompt payment.
