Vehicles that have been replaced at the end of their retention period or that are surplus to QR requirements are disposed of by Public Auction. This offers a large range of makes and models from sedans and station wagons to two wheel drive commercial vehicles and four wheel drive dual cab and wagons with varying ages and kilometres.
You will find that most vehicles come with fully stamped log books and service history. The vast majority of these vehicles will still be under the manufacturer's warranty and are supplied with a "Roadworthy certificate".
If you are thinking of purchasing a vehicle from auction or are unfamiliar with the auction process, we suggest attending your local auction house as an observer to get a feel for the way an auction is conducted. This way, when you are ready to buy, you will feel comfortable in the auction environment. It's also a good way of getting an idea of the types of prices vehicles are selling at. Alternatively, you can also attend auction sites and buy vehicles previously passed in at auction at a fixed price.
QR currently offers vehicles for sale every Monday in Brisbane at Pickles Auction Group, 280 Bilsen Road, Geebung.
And, also in Townsville every Thursday at Fowles Auction Group, 647-651 Ingham Road, Bohle.
Fowles are also the current auction provider for our heavy vehicle fleet which includes buses, single and dual cab trucks and Prime Movers with auctions held monthly in Brisbane and Townsville.
